Behind the Ears: My Interview with The Easter Bunny

TT: How did bunnies first get involved with Easter?

EB: It all goes back to the 1700's.  I come from a long line of Easter bunnies.  My bunny family came over from Germany to Pennsylvania.  The legend was that we laid colorful eggs and left them for children who had been good all year.  They even left us cozy nests and carrots in those days.

TT: How did Easter Eggs become a thing?

EB: They say it's pagan for fertility and represents new life, like when Jesus was resurrected.  All I know for sure is that my family has been delivering Easter Eggs to kids since there was a holiday.

TT: What about Easter Candy? How did that come about?

EB: Easter Candy delivery dates back to around 19th century Europe and the first chocolate eggs.  Then in the 1930's we started delivering the colorful, egg shaped jelly beans.  Kids love 'em.

TT: Whatever happened to Easter Parades?

EB: Wow, you really want some Easter History.  Back in the mid 1800's rich people would walk around after church showing off their clothes and hats, and eventually, regular people made a point to watch. They kind of peaked out in the 1940's-50's, but there is still an Easter Parade in Manhattan.

TT: Easter Egg Hunts. Do you know when and where we can find them in Central Montana for 2024?

EB: Do I!  I just happen to have a gallery of some of the most fun Easter Egg Hunts going on around Central Montana this year right here 👇👇👇
